do i install from original disks or install from steam. Okay.how to recover old account, etc.who/how to contact, etc. A lot to sift through, as well as deciding who gets what. The 11 years of /claim rewards are nice, though. I was able to recover it, and unfortunately it does look like it defaulted to "free" status over silver: although I have 5 characters on the account, only two are accessible, can't chat in public channels, can't use the broker (although apparently I have some items still listed, but can't add more or buy). Unlike the regular servers, these 2 servers are very crowded and I heard in guild half an hour ago that for Stormhold (PvE) there's even a queue up to logon! Some people still refer to their account af 'Silver' though -)Īlso worth to notice that there are 2 time-locked expansion server (PvP and PvE) now available for subscribing players (they arrived early this week - the 23rd?). Though still the same, 'Silver' was used at the 1st try of F2P when you spent more than $5 in the cash shop. Having a legacy account has no real benefits (aside from a decade of veteran rewards), other than that it might be flagged as 'Silver' instead of 'Free'. You might give it a try through support, but expect it to take some time for them to respond if it's even possible to track down your account with the boxed code. Not sure if you can recover if you con't have any of the data. (I do still have the box and CD key.) Is there any benefit to having an original purchase on the account? (Something like LOTRO's premium, where you have some benefits above FTP even if you're not actively subscribing.) I'm not too concerned about getting my old characters/gear back but I would prefer to play with my "main" account, with the legit purchases on it, even if I hadn't touched it in years. The password recovery feature would give me a temp password but I couldn't log in even with that I suspect it may have been compromised during one of SOE's hacks and eventually banned.Īnyhow, I come back now and see that they've changed to Daybreak. I tried to get back into it about two years ago but I had some trouble recovering my account at the time. It is the quality of the people on that server.and I believe AB is the BEST.So I had bought boxed EQ2 many years ago - probably when it first came out - but didn't keep with it for long, not even to the first expansion. It is not the number of people who make a good server. My original guild is down to very few active players so while continuing to keep it active, I have spread a few of mine to another very active, raid and heroics ready guild to branch out my skills. Have 16 current characters, most who are ROS level. Always some on but the game has pretty much phased out of small groupings unless doing expert dungeons or you happen to be in a guild of like minded and level players. I firmly believe AB has the most helpful, good hearted and dedicated players available. There are many times I see transfer people from other servers because of their population's approach to life and inter actions. It says "role play" always has.but that is totally optional and rarely seen out and about in the world of Norrath itself. I have been with AB server my whole 17 years of EQ2 life (with a 4 year break til about 6 months ago).
